This was the final season before Perth Glory FC resumed control of the club from Football West. They began the season going from strength to strength notching 6 straight wins, their best ever start to a season. Gill also won the Season 7 Golden Boot award for the second time in her W-League career, with a total of 12 goals. The Perth Glory Women-s team just missed the finals in their inaugural campaign, winning three matches and drawing two of their ten games and will be looking to secure a play-off berth this time around.The 2014 Perth Glory FC W-League season was the club's seventh participation in the W-League, since the league's formation in 2008.ĭuring this season, the Glory Women broke several W-League records including most points in a single season (30), as well as most goals scored by a player in a single game (5, Kate Gill).
“John has been a fantastic addition to the sport in WA with his work with the WAIS scholarship holders, and we are excited to have him on board to coach this year-s W-League team,” Mr Bettell said.

Gibson, who played for the Australian Under 23 team at the Barcelona Olympics as well as more than 300 games in the National Soccer League, will be announcing his 20 player squad in the next few weeks, and is excited about the opportunity ahead. Mr Gibson is the current Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) Women-s head coach, and previously held roles with the Westfield Young Matildas, Qantas Young Socceroos and Australian Institute of Sport, and will bring a wealth of coaching knowledge to the elite women-s football team in WA.
